FIRE SAFETY
EXPERTISE
Bob specialised in
fire safety for almost 10 years, with responsibilities for enforcing
fire regulations, consulting with building control departments, and
giving advice on behalf of Lancashire's Fire Authority.
More recently, 2
years was spent as acting Assistant Divisional Officer at Lancashire
Fire and Rescue Service headquarters, where responsibilities included:

Providing technical fire safety advice and guidance to
L.F.R.S. fire safety officers.

Helping to keep L.F.R.S. up to date with current
legislation.

Originating the 'Brigade Order' on the Fire Precautions
(Workplace) Regulations 1997.

Provided guidance for fire safety officers on the
enforcement of the workplace fire precautions legislation.
Prior to retirement, Bob's final task was to produce the fire
risk assessment for Burnley fire station.

Bob spent 4 years as an
instructor at L.F.R.S. International Training Centre, conducting
training which included:

Hydro-carbons fire fighting training for in-service
officers.

Confined space training for water and sewage treatment
plant workers

Confined space rescue training for in-service officers

Basic fire fighting for overseas fire fighters

Breathing apparatus

Basic fire fighting for a wide variety of industrial &
commercial organisations

Basic fire fighting for recruit fire fighters

Offshore heli-deck fire teams
Operational, fire safety and fire risk assessment training
was also carried out for fire-fighters and officers at fire station
