Fire risk assessment
for building designers
A basic Fire Risk Assessment
seminar is available for Architects & Building Control Officers etc. The
seminar highlights problems with building design which manifest themselves
after completion, and how knowledge about human behaviour should play a
vital role in building design. Approved Document B also comes in for
'scrutiny'.

Training Courses
The 'Dangerous Substances
and & Explosive Atmosphere Regulations 2002' require a risk assessment to be
carried out where any significant quantities of dangerous substances are
used or stored in the workplace.
We can provide in house or open training courses, that will
cover the legal duties, and how to carry out a risk assessment. Examples of
dangerous substances to which the regulations apply will be included (this
includes natural gas supplies except to domestic-type equipment, also petrol
when used in the workplace).
Control and mitigation measures will be discussed for a
variety of workplaces. The course will explain when hazardous area
classification is required, and refer to published models that can be
followed in simple cases. The basic requirements for selecting appropriate
equipment for use in hazardous areas will be explained.
