The Role of the Fire Warden
(2009)
This training
programme looks at some of the actions which can help make workplaces
safer and demonstrates the vital role that fire wardens can play in
helping prevent fires from occurring, assisting with evacuations and
fighting fires (where appropriate).
The DVD shows
fire wardens carrying out their duties in a range of different
industries, highlighting how actions may vary from company to company
and even department to department.
The DVD is
divided into two sections:
1. Fire
Warden duties (running time: 21 minutes)
describes a
typical fire warden's main responsibilities, breaking their role into 4
key areas:

identifying and reporting fire hazards in the workplace;
-
taking
prompt and appropriate action in the event of fire;
-
ensuring
that everyone is evacuated to a place of safety; and
-
undertaking first aid fire-fighting (as appropriate).
2.
First-aid fire-fighting ( running time 5 minutes)
Provides an
overview of the main types of fire extinguishers and their use.
Ideal for use
when training new fire wardens, or for refresher training.
