With the introduction of the Regulatory
Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 there is an increased responsibility
for management to ensure the safety of the public and staff within
their premises. Responsible persons have a duty to carry out a fire
risk assessment and ensure that all staff, receive appropriate
training.
Fire Safety in Sports and Leisure
Centres has been produced specifically to help ensure that staff have
been trained in all aspects of fire safety. To achieve this, this DVD
has been produced in modules so each section can be shown
individually.
Module 1 - Fire Procedures
Making sure that staff are aware of what to do if they discover
a fire or hear the fire alarm. Information includes; Raising the
Alarm, Calling the Fire & Rescue Service and Evacuation Procedures.
Module 2 - Arson
Arson is the biggest cause of fire, it is therefore important
that all staff are aware of this very real and potentially disastrous
threat to your business. This module provides vital information to
help prevent your business becoming just another statistic.
Module 3 - Fire
Safety
Preventing fire is largely common sense. Besides providing
useful information to help your staff ensure that the opportunity for
a fire to start is kept to a minimum, this module also looks at how to
maintain high standards of fire safety on a day to day basis.
Module 4 - Fire
Extinguishers
Given the requirement for ‘duty of care’ under health and
safety legislation it is important to ensure staff are given training
about portable fire fighting equipment. This section looks at; the
fire triangle, fire classification, selecting the correct
extinguisher, the do’s and don’ts of using fire extinguishers.
